In 2010, the chain expanded internationally with its first location in Dubai, and by that time, there were already 255 restaurants across the United States. The company also moved its main corporate office from Cypress to Irvine, California.

Despite these changes, Baja Fresh continued to face challenges. In 2012, CEO David Kim stepped down, and Chuck Rink took over as president while holding both titles. Later that year, the chain closed all locations in Phoenix, Arizona, without notice.
